Over 30 years of extensive research

We have people who know about many aspects of Wiltshire family history and who want to share their expertise and knowledge with you.

If you are researching your family, interested in the social conditions or local changes in Wiltshire we can help. Whether you are interested in Elizabethan times or the second world war or any time in between we have information and publications to assist.

It is not in the nature of family historians to stand still. Either we are researching our own family history or helping others with theirs. Members of the Society have been transcribing and making available Wiltshire related records almost since the day the Society was founded. Some projects, such as transcribing parish registers, seem as though they will never end!

Discover the information that is available in our Wiltshire publications or local archives with the help of our volunteers. You may be surprised and find your own research takes off in different directions.

We are always looking for more people to help out with transcribing, research, speakers for meetings or helping out at events. You may be looking for a new interest, develop new skills or help others. Even a few hours a month can help.
