We have not been able to offer any coach trips for two years but we hope to resume some trips in 2022. Of course this will depend on whether it is safe for us to do so, what venues are open and whether the charges we need to make to cover our costs are acceptable to you.
Information on our trips will be given here, and in the Journal and passed to our local branches. I also maintain a mailing list of people - members and non-members - who would like to be kept informed of our trips. So please contact me at the address below if you would like your name added.
In normal years, our coaches take you to places to further your researches or learn more about your ancestors' way of life. Each year we try to visit major archives or historic attractions and museums. Whether a member or not, you are welcome to join us. We like to include as many Wiltshire-based people as possible and offer pick up points at Westbury, Devizes, Chippenham and Swindon.
Meanwhile, we hope you all keep well and continue to develop your family history research from home. Although National Archives has announced increased lcapacity in its Reading Rooms, it continues (July 2021) to offer free downloads of its digital records – see https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/about/news/digital-downloads/
